Charlene Prounis has left Corbett Accel as chief marketing officer to launch a new agency within the Omnicom Group with former Accel chairman, Risa Bernstein.
New York-based Flashpoint Medica will focus on key interactions between doctors and sales reps and doctors and patients, Prounis told MM&M.
Prounis and Bernstein will both act as co-presidents of the new agency, which will be located in midtown Manhattan. Plans to announce additional partners are also underway.
Accel Healthcare Communications was established in 1999 and quickly rose to national prominence. Omnicom merged the agency with another of its units, Corbett Healthcare Group in early 2004. While Bernstein assumed the same role as chairman at the newly combined unit, she left the company shortly after the merger.
