Publicis Healthcare Communications Group has hired Kipp Jarecke-Cheng as global chief communications officer.

The newly created role oversees communications for Publicis Healthcare’s 15 agencies. Jarecke-Cheng reports to Publicis Healthcare CEO Nick Colucci.

Jarecke-Cheng started in the New York-based position last month, leading internal and external communications for the network’s agencies and working on content marketing, media relations, and thought leadership.

“There is so much innovation happening from the medical tech standpoint and innovation about how to connect with and communicate health and wellness to people,” he said.

Prior to Publicis Healthcare, Jarecke-Cheng worked in digital marketing at Four32C, served as a board member at ThirdPath Institute, and was director of global PR and comms at Nurun. He also held communications roles at G2 and the American Association of Advertising Agencies. Jarecke-Cheng began his career in editorial positions at Diversity Inc., Adweek, and Entertainment Weekly.

“One of the many things that was attractive to me about Publicis Healthcare was the nature of the health and wellness category: it’s all about people,” Jarecke-Cheng said.

Publicis Groupe last year reorganized into specialty hubs, which created Publicis Healthcare, along with Publicis Communications, Publicis Media, and Publicis Sapient. The Paris-based holding company said the goal of the reorganization is to break down silos among agencies to create the best possible work for clients.
