Reed launches new CME unit, hosts first event
Reed Exhibitions and sister company Elsevier Health Sciences have
launched Reed Medical Education, a targeted health and medical events group designed to focus on CME in specialty fields and emerging disciplines.
Reed Medical Education events will range from global congresses to
topic-specific symposia and will feature accredited, peer developed content led by thought-leaders, influencers and practitioners in their
respective fields. "Reed Med Ed was formed to bring independent, unbiased research and clinical practice to medical professionals in a capacitycontrolled environment," said Angi Pechman, a Reed Exhibitions spokeswoman.

The first Reed Medical Education event served the field of oncology.
The Oncology World Congress took place Nov.17-19 in Houston.
Revenue for CME providers continued to rise last year, climbing 11. 2 percent to $1.77 billion, according to the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education annual report for 2003.
