Survey optimistic on med ed fundingFunding for medical education next year will likely increase or remain stable, according to a Cutting Edge Information survey.
For 2007, 41% of surveyed drug firms predicted a spending hike, 29% forecast a decrease and 29% expected no change. Those promising to spend more said they intend to add events.
“Very few companies are looking to decrease funding or the number of events,” said Elio Evangelista, senior research analyst, Cutting Edge. Why the grantor optimism? “Everybody understands…the rules and the lay of the land and what the repercussions would be [for] not following along with industry practices.”
