The Wicks Group picks up Jobson Publishing

Jobson Publishing has reached a deal for its sale to private equity firm The Wicks Group, several sources close to the firm told MM&M.
Officials at Bloomfield, N.J.-based Jobson, a family-owned firm whose medical titles include Clinician News and Clinician Reviews, could not be reached for comment Tuesday evening. Wicks Group managing partner and co-founder Craig Klosk declined comment. 
In August, 2003, the New York-based Wicks Group acquired Medical Education Consultants in a $35 million deal, folding it into its newly-formed Wicks Medical Information division. Earlier this year, the Wicks tapped former Medcases and Thomson executive Michael Tansey to head the medical division.
Elsewhere in medical media M&A action, Lebhar-Friedman reached a deal to acquire Dowden Health Media, bringing together two family-owned New York-area companies. Dowden will operate as the medical publishing division of Lebhar-Friedman, maintaining its brand identity and its offices in Montvale, N.J. and Northbrook, Ill.The deal was brokered by DeSilva & Phillips.
