A trio of New York Democrats stood by Madison Avenue to strike measures aimed at inhibiting consumer ads of Rx drugs from the committee markup of the House legislation renewing PDUFA. Edolphus Towns, Eliot Engel and Anthony Weiner helped shepherd through an amendment gutting measures that would have imposed a moratorium on new drug ads and would require FDA approval prior to airing ads.
