Wolters Kluwer reported 2007 revenues for its health
division down to 761 million Euros from 823 million Euros in 2006 and operating
profits down to 78 million from 80 million. For the fourth quarter of 2007,
revenues were down to 206 million Euros from 232 million for Q4 2006.
On the upside, Wolters
Kluwer said health products delivered organic growth of 1%, “with strong growth
in Clinical Solutions and Medical Research, partially offset by weakening
pharma promotional spending, price compression in Healthcare Analytics, and
softening book sales in legacy channels.” The publisher vowed to strengthen the
division through investment in new products and data sets.
