Patel’s first taste of healthcare came when he was enlisted to persuade Novartis to create a patient-outreach Facebook page for tobramycin. Since then, he has made a name for himself as a pioneer of the use of digital, social, and mobile in healthcare — and something of an outspoken digital evangelist. Patel won a Clio for his work on the Tobi Facebook page and received universal acclaim for his work on Boehringer Ingelheim’s groundbreaking DRIVE4COPD social-media campaign. More recently, Patel steered the digital team at OCHWW to create the industry’s first marketing cloud, giving clients a 360-degree view of HCP customer behavior based on more than 7,000 attributes. Plus he spearheaded the creation of an innovative EHR practice that has already attracted around 35 brands and helped design and build OCHWW’s Innovation Lab.
