Wendy Lund

CEO, GCI Health

What would you do if you didn’t work in healthcare?

Teach.
Talk about the last time you experienced a fist-pumping victory moment.

Recently, I taught a class of young women and was blown away and moved by their incredible tenacity, confidence, motivation, and ambition – all at the age of 20. They made me realize my generation of mothers did something very right. I’m so proud. They will go so far.
When was the last time you endured an “agony of defeat” moment? What did you learn from it?

Many years ago, at my last agency, we lost a large international pitch. I learned many diverse people can be galvanized to compete to win.
How long ago was the last time you recharged your batteries? What did you do?

My daughter made me have a spa day. She recharged. I’m not sure I did.
What do you find frustrating about working in healthcare marketing?

Lack of advancement at certain levels for women in the industry.
To ensure pay parity and career advancement for women, I will…

Continue to ensure every person in my agency is paid fairly and advances regularly.
What are your words to live by?

I tell myself, “Try harder.”
What is one thing you would tell young women starting their careers in healthcare marketing?

Your future is bright.
Favorite drink?

Champagne.
What three people, alive or dead, would you like to host at a dinner party?

Jane Roe of Roe v. Wade, Erika Girardi from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and Princess Diana (needs no explanation). Not necessarily in this order.
