A natural leader, mentor and client partner, Jessica Echterling Belardi’s first foray into marketing took place while she was still a graduate student at the University of South Florida. Long story short: Her master’s thesis, a marketing plan for a local restaurant group, was so impressive she was hired as the company’s marketing director.
From there, she worked at Merkley, a full-service advertising agency, as an account executive on the O’Charley’s and Teva respiratory accounts, and then at Leo Burnett, where she served as a senior account executive on the Avis and Aramark teams.
For reasons both personal and professional, Belardi had long wanted to work in oncology. In 2014, this wish became a reality when she joined Daggerwing Health as a management supervisor on the Merck Oncology team. When Merck expanded the business for its blockbuster oncology drug Keytruda, she moved with the account to TBWA\Chiat\Day. Thanks to her talent and work ethic, Belardi was quickly promoted from account manager to VP, group account director.
In 2018, TBWA\WorldHealth and TBWA\Chiat\Day announced the creation of TBWA\Health Collective, which specializes in DTC healthcare advertising. An integral figure in the launch, Belardi is now one of the collective’s core leaders and has helped it go on to win eight new businesses and hire 25 people.
