Outcome Health has hired Matt McNally, most recently a top executive at Publicis Health, as CEO, five months after its previous chief executive stepped down amid fraud allegations against the company.

McNally will be based in New York, but will travel to offices in Chicago and Tampa to meet with staff.

“The addition of [McNally], as the leader of our executive team, means our operational momentum can now more fully expand into growth of customer confidence, furthering our progress and helping us achieve our vision,” the company said in a statement sent to employees. “He has been familiar with Outcome Health for years as an agency partner, and he jumped at the opportunity to lead our company because he recognizes the monumental opportunity we are poised to seize.”

McNally declined to comment through a spokesperson.

Last October, Outcome Health was accused of misleading advertisers with manipulated data. A month later, companies such as Goldman Sachs and Google, which invested tens of millions of dollars in the startup, sued Outcome, CEO Rishi Shah and president Shradha Agarwal, alleging the company misled investors about its performance. Shah and Agarwal stepped down from their roles in January as the company settled a $500 million lawsuit, but retained chairman and vice chair roles.

Outcome also added four board members at the end of May: Mike Gamson, SVP of global solutions for LinkedIn; Robert Pelzer, former president of Novartis; Matthew Ray, founder and managing partner of Portage Point Partners; and Robert Schriesheim, chair of Truax Partners.

The company is also working to rebuild its image through efforts such as offering customers a third-party performance audit, investing in technology to measure performance, and joining the Interactive Advertising Bureau.

McNally was previously group president and chief media officer at Publicis Health, overseeing Digitas Health, Publicis Health Media, Insync, and Verilogue and more than 700 employees. He was named MM&M's Agency Marketer of the Year in 2016.
