The American Medical Association has named Steven Stack its president elect. Stack will be the association’s youngest AMA president in 100 years when he takes office in June 2015 at age 43.

Stack was also the AMA’s first board-certified emergency physician to serve on the association’s board, and has a deep background in health information technology—his previous roles include participating in federal advisory groups for the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, also known as ONC, and the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology report.
