NEW YORK: McCann Global Health has upped Briana Ferrigno to president, the healthcare specialist firm said on Thursday.
Ferrigno is taking over leadership of the firm from Andrew Schirmer, who served as president since 2013. She was one of the founding members of McCann Global Health, which launched that same year, initially serving as associate director.
McCann Global Health focuses on health issues around the world, like polio, pneumonia, and access to healthcare. Its clients include UNICEF, the AB InBev Foundation, and the U.N. Foundation.
Previously, Ferrigno was VP and group director for McCann Global Health. She has also worked in communications for ICAP at Columbia University and Columbia Center for New Media Teaching and Learning. Earlier in her career, she held roles at Avenue A/Razorfish and MindShare.
Last month, McCann Health brought on its first global medical director in Daniel Carucci, who focuses on maintaining scientific integrity in the firm’s client work and is a senior adviser to McCann Global Health. The agency also promoted Marcus Sigurdsson to global chief digital officer in January.
McCann Health North America saw revenues increase by 15% in 2016 to an estimated $175 million. The firm had more than 700 full-time staff at the time.
