Eisai has appointed Louis Arp vice president of production operations and Lyn Olson vice president
of quality at the company’s pharmaceutical production and development facility in Research Triangle Park, N.C. Arp joins from OSG
Norwich Pharmaceuticals. Olson was vice president of quality and regulatory compliance at Protein Design Laboratories.

Schering-Plough has appointed Michael Perelman as vice president, global project management and regulatory
affairs for the Schering-Plough Research Institute. Perelman joined SPRI in 1996 and most recently served as senior director and customer channel head for cardiovascular
and metabolic products.

AGENCIES
Abelson-Taylor has promoted Jim Haupt to associate creative director for copy, and has hired Joshua Shehab as a copywriter in the Interactive Group. Haupt, who was a
senior copywriter at the agency, will direct all the writing on Tarceva and Neulasta. Joshua Shehab joins from Torre Lazur McCann in Chicago. 

CommonHealth has promoted Jeffrey Fisher to executive vice president, director of medical strategy from executive vice president, medical director, business development at med ed unit HLS. Russell
Grimaldi has been advanced from executive vice president of business development from senior vice president, director of business development. The agency also has hired John Spingler as vice president, new business development. He was president at the Center for Active Learning.

Carbon, CommonHealth’s professional advertising agency, named
Darlene Dobry as an executive vice president, director of client services. Before Carbon, Dobry was executive vice president, director of client services and new business development at Torre Lazur McCann. Also joining Carbon, as executive vice president, chief creative officer, is Scott Watson. Watson will partner with Nanske Wood, president of Carbon, to manage the company’s creative product. Prior to joining Carbon, Watson worked at Torre Lazur McCann as executive vice president, creative director.

PharmaStrat, a market research provider, has expanded its research and analytics teams. Dave Gustafson was named vice president of market research. Gustafson comes from V2
GfK, where he was a senior consultant. Brian Corvino was hired as manager of strategic services. Prior to PharmaStrat, Corvino was with Janssen Pharmaceutica. Mary Beth Darr was named senior analyst for the strategic services department. She was a consultant with Defined Health. Jessica Rute has been tapped for the new position, marketing communications specialist. Prior, she was a marketing coordinator for Essent Corporation, a business management software company. Sarah Dobson, who has been working part time for PharmaStrat as an associate analyst, has joined full-time as an analyst.

Elsevier has appointed Mary Elizabeth Gray as advertising sales representative for The American Journal of Medicine, American Optometric Association News, Optometry: Journal of the American Optometric Association and Nanomedicine: Nanotechnology, Biology, and Medicine. She was director of sales, conference division at Institutional Investor.

American Business Media has awarded its 2005 Circulation Career Award to Quadrant HealthCom’s Donna Sickles.A past chair and current member of ABM’s Circulation Committee, Sickles is corporate circulation director at Quadrant HealthCom and has 20 years experience in both controlled and paid circulation.

Quadrant HealthCom has rehired Margo Ullmann as an account
manager for The Female Patient. She was previously the marketing manager for Higgs Medical Products.
