Pfizer has elected Stanley Ikenberry to the newly created role of lead director for the company’s board. A board member since 1982, Ikenberry will preside over executive sessions of Pfizer’s independent directors, in addition to other duties.

Lamberto Andreotti was named as president of Bristol-Myers Squibb’s consolidated global pharmaceuticals group, Worldwide Pharmaceuticals. Donald Hayden, who was president of the Americas pharmaceuticals business, will leave the company in six months. The move is to allow Hayden “to pursue his goal of becoming CEO of a health care company,” Bristol-Myers said in a published report. Non-pharmaceutical businesses will be consolidated into a new health care group.

Adams Respiratory Therapeutics has named Janet Barth its new executive director, investor & public relations. Barth joins Adams from Schering-Plough, where she was director of investor relations.

AGENCIES
Quantum, CommonHealth’s consumer healthcare agency, has added three to its senior-management team: Dan Katz, Steve Pashkoff and Shelagh Brooke. Katz joins as general manager, responsible for account functions and client services.  Pashkoff takes over as Quantum’s executive vice president, chief creative officer. Brooke comes aboard  as executive vice president, chief strategic officer.

Altum, a unit of CommonHealth, has hired Laura Perry as vice president, account group supervisor. Prior to joining Altum, she worked at Corbett Accel Healthcare Group in Chicago as vice president, senior director.

Dipika Dabhi and Conor Fogarty have joined HLS (Health Learning Systems), a CommonHealth medical-education unit, as program coordinators.

Noesis, CommonHealth’s professional advertising and promotion unit, has named John Nosta as general manager and chief creative officer. Nosta assumes full responsibility for agency operations, including creative and account services

Epic Brand Communications has hired Steve Finkelstein as a senior writer, Melinda Curtis as art director and Bassel Habbal as account coordinator, responsible for research, traffic and client communications.

Abelson-Taylor has hired Donna Arey as senior copywriter and Amie Casson as senior account supervisor.

CCG Metamedia, a medical education and communications company, has hired Barbara Becker as vice president, Medical Education Division. Becker had worked as client services director at Adis Communications. CCG also added three managers of new business: Kerry Alyson Crawford, Holly Henry and Nikki Muntz. Crawford had worked as senior manager of convention strategy at Pfizer. Henry had worked as director of scientific affairs at PharmaWrite (formerly DesignWrite). And Muntz had worked as a manager in the Medical Strategies Group at Merck.
 
Lanmark Group has promoted Kurt Algayer to vice president, creative services. Previously he was director of production and traffic. Algayer will oversee all print advertising for Lanmark clients, including Johnson & Johnson, in addition to other creative duties.

The Curry Rockefeller Group of Companies has hired Linda Caldwell as director, oncology, for the firm’s CRG Oncology Division, which develops med ed programs for the oncology market.

Palio Communications has hired Michael Lomanto as graphic designer and Joanne Madden-Lovering as production manager.

Upside Endeavors has promoted Rachel Geller to project manager from associate project manager, as well as Daniel Kenney to systems administrator from project manager. Geller will focus on collaborating with brands on global advocacy development and delivering educational programs. Kenney operates the agency’s event management systems and proprietary KOL databases.

Strategy, marketing, and research firm The Zitter Group has made two new additions to its management team: Ed Szostak, vice president, business development, and Jack Lin, director, analytics, product development & management.
