FDA’s former associate commissioner for the office of external affairs, Virginia Cox, has rejoined consulting group 3D Communications, where she worked before her external affairs position.

“I gained an enormous appreciation for the magnitude of FDA’s role in protecting and promoting America’s health, and for the importance of clear communication in those processes. I now look forward to bringing these insights to 3D’s clients,” Cox said in a company statement announcing her 3D Communications role.

Cox’s most recent government posting was not her first: the now-former FDA-er also worked with the regulatory agency in the 1990s. Cox’s resume also includes time with the Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA), the trade group representing over-the-counter medicine (OTC) manufacturers, among other organizations.
