Boehringer Ingelheim has announced the appointment of Albert Ros as EVP, sales and marketing, for the company’s prescription medicines business. Ros is tasked with leading US sales and marketing strategy behind BI’s core pharmaceutical brands. Previously, Ros was head of BI’s corporate division for marketing prescription medicines, and led the development of Spiriva, Flomax, Mirapex and Micardis.
 
Medical publisher Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, a division of Wolters Kluwer Health, has appointed Amy Clarke Luchsinger as vice president of sales. Luchsinger was previously SVP at Quadrant HealthCom, a medical communications company. 
 
Former Johnson & Johnson vice chairman and board member Christine Poon has been named dean of Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business, effective April 2009. Last October Poon announced plans to retire from J&J on March 1, 2009. Poon will be succeeded at J&J by Sheri McCoy.
 
Cequent Pharmaceuticals, a developer of RNAi-based treatments, announced that Ted Hibben has been appointed chief business officer. Hibben was previously VP business development and alliance management for Coley Pharmaceutical Group, where he played a key role in that company’s $233 million acquisition by Pfizer in 2008.
