NextBio, provider of the leading life sciences search engine, has appointed Andrew Grygiel as vice president of marketing. In this role, Grygiel will lead the company’s overall global marketing efforts, including branding, positioning, public relations and product marketing. Grygiel comes to NextBio with more than 20 years of domestic and international high technology marketing experience. Prior to joining the company he served as senior vice president of Global Marketing at Orchestria, where he helped establish the company as a leader in information protection and control.
 
Bausch & Lomb, the global eye health company, announced that Peter Valenti, III, will join Bausch & Lomb as president, North America, Vision Care. Valenti was most recently vice president and general manager, Surgical Devices (US), for Covidien, where he led sales and marketing strategy for its product portfolio. Prior, he spent 12 years with Johnson & Johnson, serving in a variety of US and international roles across consumer, pharmaceutical and device businesses. These included positions as vice president, global strategy, and vice president, US marketing, both in Vision Care.

David Jaeger has been named senior VP of business development at Intasol Group. Jaeger, with 20 years experience in naming and branding many of the top Rx brands in the world, virtually “invented” the niche business of developing and building the strategy of brand names for the pharmaceutical industry while serving as the managing director for Wood Healthcare. Intasol Group (intasolgroup.com) is a global naming practice that provides clients with creative name development, trademarking, safety name confusion research as well as regulatory guidance.
