Bridge Pharmaceuticals, a contract research organization providing preclinical drug development services in the US and China, announced the appointment of Vincent Lagrotteria to VP of global sales and marketing. Prior to Bridge, Lagrotteria was VP, global sales and marketing for Bilcare, a Phoenixville, PA provider of drug development services in the US, India, and the UK.

Draftfcb Healthcare opened an additional office in Manhattan, Area23, to service different clients. The 70-person office will be headed by two creative directors, Melissa Cahill and Steve Bateman, and by Mike Guarino, managing director. Among the existing accounts Area23 will work on will be Roche’s Phase III rheumatoid arthritis compound Actemra, US and global, and Mircera for anemia, US and global; GlaxoSmithKline’s Lamictal for bipolar and epilepsy, US; as well as some smaller brands from other manufacturers.
