Failure to dazzle is keeping docs from tapping many iPad e-details, reported Manhattan Research, which found doctors were dissatisfied with basics such as poor typeface and color choices and sloppy navigation. Failing to help docs navigate big challenges, like the shift from fee-for-service to quality metrics, was also cited.

WebMD named David Schlanger its CEO and Steven Zatz president. Schlanger had been heading up the operation as interim CEO since Cavan Redmond’s May 2013 departure. Zatz’s  most recent role was EVP, professional services, WebMD.

Ingestible sensors may be useful as an adherence tool among patients taking psych meds, a study showed. The sensors, from Proteus Digital Health, had a 94% tracking accuracy, or about the same as manually tracking what meds were taken when. The study found a 74% mean adherence rate.

An HCP-centric app from the Parkinson Foundation has proven so popular with patients that the foundation launched a patient-friendly one last month. A three-person team that was made up of two doctors and a patient reviewed all of the patient-app information, a source told MM&M.
