Quintiles launched, a site aimed at recruiting patients for clinical trials by demystifying the process. The site contains video testimonial from patients that have participated in recent trials, and resources about upcoming and ongoing trials, and how to enroll. Clinical Site Services launched, a site that provides no-charge trial listings for investigator sites, sponsors and CROs.

Merck launched The Merck Manual—Home Edition, an iPhone application version of its new medical book, which provides consumers with detailed information on a range of conditions and health topics. The content was written by over 300 worldwide medical experts. The app, developed with Agile Partners, allows consumers to look up information and share topics via email.

Google Health announced a partnership with MDLiveCare, a technology that connects doctors with patients in remote locations. Through the partnership, patients consulting a doctor via web conference or telephone can have their information and charts automatically flowed into Google Health's personal health records online. Google Health has also synched personal health records with other companies.
