FDA announced a collaboration with Everyday Health aimed at pushing FDA information on health topics out to the health portal’s 30 million or so monthly unique users.

The partnership consists of a co-branded site, EverydayHealth.com/FDA, offering product safety info as well as prevention and wellness topics from the agency. Everyday Health will also feature “FDA Alert” modules with breaking public health news throughout the site and network and in email newsletters.

The agency and Everyday Health will also produce a weekly cobranded newsletter featuring the FDA Alerts and up-to-date info on drug safety, cosmetics and skin care products and children’s health products.

“We are pleased to collaborate with Everyday Health to reach millions more consumers with accurate, science-based information that can help them make decisions about their health,” said FDA commissioner Margaret Hamburg in a statement. “This partnership will increase our ability to deliver important and sometimes urgent health information in an effective, consumer-friendly and convenient way.” The agency’s agreement with Waterfront Media was detailed in the Nov. 18 Federal Register.

“We are excited to partner with FDA on this important initiative and believe it serves as testament to our mission to deliver important health information as it happens,” said Everyday Health CEO and co-founder Ben Wolin.
