Before resigning, former HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius fielded one last question about the Sunshine Act from Sen. Chuck Grassley, one of the act’s co-authors, who asked her to assure providers that they “can have confidence that the data made publicly available…will have explicit context.” Sebelius said she could not answer that specifically, but would check on the answer and get back to him, according to a transcript of their exchange on the blog policymed.com.

Murray Kopelow, MD, president and chief executive of the ACCME, said he will retire next year. At the time of his retirement—July 31, 2015—he will have completed 30 years of service in CME, including 20 years as chief executive of ACCME.

Haymarket Medical Education’s application to become an accredited provider of CME was approved last month. HME, owned by the same parent company as MM&M, operates independently.
