Frank Lavelle officially became CEO of data and analytics provider Symphony Health Solutions in mid-January.

He is orchestrating the four companies of which Symphony is composed: Source Healthcare Analytics, ImpactRx, TargetRx and AlphaDetail.

Symphony was formed by parent Symphony Technology Group last May after the private equity firm acquired the Source business from Wolters Kluwer for an undisclosed sum.

After the sale, Source’s co-presidents Bob Jansen and Michelle Woker stayed on. A month later, Symphony Health announced that it had appointed an IMS Health and Thomson Healthcare veteran as its new CEO, but apparently the appointment didn’t work out.

For the past four years, Lavelle led the educational division of SunGard Data Systems. Before that, he served as CEO for Siemens Medical Solutions and president for Medquist.
