What was your big break?

In college I participated in a national competition through the American Advertising Federation. As a result I won an internship at an agency in NYC. That internship quickly turned into a job, which put my career on the fast track.

What’s the best and/or worst part of your job?

There are a lot of wonderful things—such as working in a creative environment and helping to mentor young talent. The tough part is how unpredictable and demanding it can be.

Any books you’re reading?

As a working parent, many of the books I read are at the elementary school level, which is great since they tend to be creative and funny—even quite smart. It’s good to read something silly sometimes. It helps maintain perspective.

What was your greatest professional challenge?

Balancing the demands of career with the responsibil-ities of personal and family life is an ongoing challenge.

In five years you’ll be . . .

. . . meeting new personal and professional challenges while building brands and growing with this crazy, fun, ever-evolving industry.
