Marketing research consultancy CarbonSix said it launched a tool that can deliver “in the moment” insight about patients living with chronic medical conditions. The digital ethnography tool uses a smartphone app to connect researchers to subjects, pose questions and send tasks.

“She might shoot some photos of her medicine cabinet as she takes her daily medications,” C6 said in a promotional video about how subjects might use it.

The app can be used for short surveys or longitudinal research, and is more cost-effective than bringing subjects into a research facility, C6 said.
