Consumer insights firm Treato rolled out a social-listening app geared to pharma that will give users a look into what healthcare topics are trending, how consumers feel about them, as well as how they feel about brands and what networks they favor.

CEO Ido Hadari told MM&M that although pharma companies have been hesitant to participate in social media, the business has become a consumer business, and successful consumer businesses need to pay attention to what their customers are talking about online.

He said the app goes beyond tracking trending topics and can explain why a topic is trending as well as predict its trajectory.
