Apple’s HealthKit will not have to get the FDA’s approval. MobiHealth News reports that the new health tool is benefiting from the FDA’s June 11 announcement in which it specified the types of mobile health apps that can go live without courting regulatory approval.

These apps include vaccination records, drug interaction apps and apps that allow “a user to collect, log, track and trend data such as blood glucose, blood pressure, heart rate, weight or other data” that can be shared with an HCP or transferred to an EHR.
