After nine years leading sales at Healthline, Lisa Bookwalter is joining Twitter to oversee U.S. health and wellness clients.
Bookwalter will lead all health client partnerships and Twitter’s market positioning in the health space. She is responsible for driving partnerships and revenue growth within the health and wellness vertical. Bookwalter will report to Brad Keown, managing director at Twitter, who leads the health, alcoholic beverages, dining and consumer packaged goods divisions.
“Twitter is where meaningful dialogue is happening, and, ultimately, that dialogue presents health marketers with a treasure trove of cues to better understand and engage consumers,” Bookwalter said, in a statement. “Health companies are changing the world; they are at the center of innovation in so many ways, so I’m thrilled to join the team and introduce more health companies to the opportunities they have on the platform.”
Keown said in a statement that the health vertical is “one of the fastest growing” at Twitter.
Bookwalter was previously senior director for advertising at health website Healthline, advertising director for Meredith’s travel group and managing director at The New York Times, leading advertising for its travel team.
In Q2, Twitter earned $727 million in advertising revenue, a 21% increase from 2018. U.S. ad revenue made up about half of that total and recorded more than double the growth (29%) of international ad revenue (13%).
