Klick Health has added highly regarded industry veteran Bernardo Romero as Maker, the company announced today. The role, designed specifically for Romero, tasks him with spearheading and evolving the agency’s creative storytelling and craft.

It came together quickly over a cup of coffee, according to Klick chief creative officer Rich Levy.

“Being a chief creative officer of a big holding company took Bernardo away from his passion, which was creating the work and helping elevate the craft,” Levy said. “We discussed doing new, innovative things to elevate the work across the entire agency, and we both got really excited about it.”

Part of that role will include leadership of what Klick has dubbed The Workshop. Composed of people from pharma and others from a range of industries, its aim is to develop new ways of storytelling.

“Maybe it will involve the movie industry, Broadway, songwriters and filmmakers coming together to identify new ways to grab the patients and doctors to be more effective,” Romero speculated.

Romero added that the role couldn’t be a better fit.

“I realized that my passion was to be closer to the ground, closer to the work. Especially after the pandemic, there’s a need to rethink the potential of new ways of advertising, content, storytelling and craft,” he continued. “To be able to consolidate that in an agency that is always ready for bigger thinking, it felt like the perfect time to join forces.”
Romero joins Klick from The Bloc, where he served as chief creative officer. Last month, The Bloc hired former H4B Chelsea president and chief creative officer Christian Bauman to replace him.
