Healthcare communications network KnowledgePoint360 has expanded its roster of health strategy tools to include “My Virtual How” (MyVHow), a management tool designed to benchmark best practices in the development of medical publications.

Launched in early October, MyVHow draws upon the medical communications experience of KnowledgePoint360, and combines with it the advisory resources of the overarching network’s TGaS Advisors division, enabling health publication professionals to troubleshoot problems that arise from content and topic sensitivity by inquiring to and learning from a community of their peers.

How it works is that subscribers can submit inquiries about specific topics through a pass-word protected community website,, and other subscribers within the community may respond; results are analyzed, aggregated and then reported back to all participants within 10 business days.

“MyVHow answers the common question, ‘How do other pharmaceutical companies do it?’ by asking members of a growing community,” explains KnowledgePoint360 Group CEO, Jon Bigelow. “Especially with today’s emphasis on transparency of clinical trial data and rapid technological change in how data can be delivered, it is more important than ever for publication professionals to maximize their effectiveness in communicating critical data to the healthcare community in accordance with the highest ethical practices.”

According to Bigelow, publications teams from companies that become members of the MyVHow community have the opportunity to pose key questions on details of such important topics such as compliance procedures, the role of open-access journals, dissemination of clinical research in emerging markets, and more.

The company conducted a pilot study for the MyVHow program in April of this year, where the product was debuted to 20 companies who worked in the medical publications field. And within six months of the official, says Bigelow, the firm anticipates having an active community of 100 individuals, with additional content being added to the website as the need for it grows.

“Based directly on feedback from clients, we are currently preparing to launch a Medical Affairs MyVHow community, and we expect to introduce the concept into other disciplines in the future,” Bigelow adds.
