Remedy Health Media named Sandor Marik its chief marketing officer. He will lead the publisher’s marketing, social, analytics, and audience development strategies.

Marik previously served as senior vice president for Business Insider. Prior to that role, he was executive director of digital consumer marketing at Condé Nast, where he oversaw 26 of the publisher’s digital brands.

Marik said his marketing strategy for Remedy will include “bringing the power of analytics and social together,” to allow healthcare brands to reach larger audiences.

Remedy provides health information through its branded digital platforms, such as HealthCentral, Diabetes Focus, and The Body, an HIV/AIDS resource, among others. The publisher debuted its own long-form and pharma sponsored stories with its “Live Bold Live Now Immersion Series” in 2014.

To implement that strategy, Marik said he will aim to ensure teams are “working more effectively across brands and business lines to uncover more value for our audience,” adding, “a crucial marketing role is being the ambassador of the customer within a company.”
