MM&M is now accepting entries for the 2017 MM&M Awards, which honors creativity and effectiveness in healthcare marketing. Winners in all 33 categories will be revealed at a black-tie event in New York City in October.

This year’s awards program includes three new categories: Best Orphan Product Marketing Initiative, Best Use of Immersive Technology, and Best Marketing Team.

There are a total of 31 awards categories to enter in 2017. Two additional awards — the Platinum Award, which recognizes exceptional contribution to healthcare, and the Titanium Award, a Best-in-Show type of honor — are selected by MM&M staff in conjunction with this year’s chair of judges, Reaves West, associate director and GHH compliance training lead at Merck.

The deadline for entries is Monday, April 10, at 6 pm EST. The awards ceremony, held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City, will be held Thursday, October 19. Last year more than 900 people attended the black-tie dinner and ceremony.

MM&M is also accepting nominations for the awards jury, which is made up of roughly 100 senior healthcare marketers and executives who will gather in June to discuss and analyze the top entries.

In addition to the three new categories, this year’s program features the recently launched Young Jurists program, which invites young professionals in the early years of their healthcare marketing careers to participate in the MM&M Awards judging process. Young Jurists can visit the MM&M Awards website to apply.

Among other changes, based on feedback from the 2016 program, the Personality Awards have been changed to the Individual and Team Awards. Jurors felt a team approach was preferred, and to reward the breadth and depth of team contribution, MM&M added an award for Marketing Team. Rounding out this section are Best Industry Marketer and Best Young Marketer.

The deadline for jury nominations, including the Young Jurists program, is Monday, March 6.
