Everyday Health has named Dr. Arefa Cassoobhoy VP, medical affairs and chief medical editor of EverydayHealth.com, a role in which she’ll co-oversee the company’s #BlackHealthFacts initiative with EH medical editor at large Dr. Patrice Harris. Everyday Health plans to celebrate the anniversary of the initiative by debuting a series of videos and related resources on June 14.
“She gets it,” Harris said of Cassoobhoy in a statement. “For those of us doctors who have seen firsthand the structural and social determinants of health impacting our patients, we can acknowledge the progress that’s occurred. We are emboldened together to continue to raise awareness and influence real change.”
