Results from a study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology suggest that blogging may help women with breast cancer battle depression.

A sample of 100 women were split into two groups. Half received hands-on instruction in creating a site with WordPress. The women were assessed before they were randomized and six months later.

Six months in, the bloggers showed “significant benefit” in their depressive symptoms, UCLA researchers found. The biggest change was seen among those in therapy vs. those who had completed treatment.

Researchers could not say if their results would directly translate to an outcome benefit.
