The Point of Care Communication Council (PoC3) has added a media buying company to its ranks for the first time.
The organization revealed five new members: Interpublic media shop HealixGlobal and auditing companies BPA Worldwide and the Alliance for Audited Media. Patient education platform CheckedUp and Physician’s Weekly also joined the organization.
The organization has represented publishers and platforms in the point of care landscape since its founding in 2013. The media buying members bring a different perspective to the group and bring the two sides of the point-of-care industry together to advance its mission, the organization said in a statement.
Earlier this month, PoC3 named Karen Newmark as executive director. She has worked on both the brand and agency side of the business, most recently, as an associate brand marketing director at Teva. Earlier in her career, Newmark worked at Grey Healthcare Group and InTouch Solutions.
Trust in the point of care industry was shaken up in 2017 after prominent player Outcome Health was accused of misleading advertisers with manipulated data. After the scandal, its top executives stepped down and the company began working to rebuild its image with new CEO Matt McNally.
