Researchers begin trial of HIV medicine and steroid in COVID-19 patients. The trial, taking place in the U.K., will test AbbVie’s HIV drug Kaletra and the steroid dexamethasone in patients hospitalized due to the coronavirus. (Reuters)

Gilead is suspending access to antiviral drug and experimental COVID-19 treatment. The company said it saw an “exponential increase” in requests for the drug, remdesivir, which is currently being tested in five trials as a potential COVID-19 treatment. (BioPharma Dive)
