In late 2015 the then KaloBios Pharmaceuticals CEO, Martin Shkreli, was criticized for buying a benznidazole, a longtime treatment for Chagas disease, and then announcing plans to raise the price from between $50 and $100 for a course a treatment to $60,000 to $90,000.
