The FDA has placed a partial hold on AbbVie’s cancer trials for Venclexta, due to a higher rate of deaths. A review of data from the trials for Venclexta for multiple myeloma found a higher proportion of deaths in its arm of the late-stage study. One third of uninsured American patients don’t take medication as prescribed to reduce costs, a report from the CDC found. Only 8.4% of those with private insurance take medication as prescribed due to cost. Nearly one in five patients have asked their doctors for cheaper drugs. (CNN)
