AstraZeneca has announced the appointment of Graham Baker as vice president and chief financial officer for North America. Baker will be responsible for all finance and information services matters in North America, effective Jan. 1, 2009. Baker, most recently regional finance director for AstraZeneca Asia Pacific, will report to Rich Fante, president, US.
 
Pfizer’s chief medical officer, Joe Feczko, has announced plans to retire after a 26-year stint with the company. Feczko will remain on board for the next “several months,” according to a company memo. Pfizer has commissioned an internal and external search for a new chief medical officer.
 
NovaRX, a clinical-stage biopharma focused on the development and commercialization of vaccine cancer treatments, has appointed Norrie Russell to president and chief operating officer. Russell has held several CEO positions in the past, including tenures at Kalos Therapeutics, Aviva Biosciences and Lynx Therapeutics. Russell was also chief scientific officer at Invitrogen. Russell has also served as the global head, biological science and technology, at AstraZeneca. 
 
Qforma, an analytics and predictive modeling company, has appointed Kent Harris senior vice president of sales, new business. Harris joins Qforma from Organon Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Schering-Plough in 2007), where he led 125 sales reps and 11 district managers that generated $80 million in annual revenue.
