Accera, Inc., a biotech focused on central nervous system diseases, has announced the election of Thomas Werner to its board of directors. Werner was managing director and SVP of GlaxoSmithKline, and served as CEO of the GSK Foundation, until January of this year.

Brandofino Communications announced the appointment of Paula Katz as editor of Doctor’s Digest, a bimonthly practice management guide. Katz was previously executive editor of the American College of Physicians’ ACP Observer, and senior editor of Advanstar’s Medical Economics title.
