The AMA launched a multimillion-dollar national TV and radio campaign urging patients and physicians to oppose cuts to Medicare physician reimbursements. Ads encourage patients and physicians to contact their representatives and urge repeal of the Medicare physician payment formula. The AMA has also encouraged physicians to post flyers in their offices urging Medicare and TRICARE patients to take action.

Clearasil launched a Facebook campaign seeking young adults to be brand ambassadors. Clearasil All Access Agents will be picked based on their answers to questions about how social media affects their lives. Each winner will receive a $5,000 prize. The Reckitt Benckiser brand’s US Facebook page has 58,000 fans.

Americans are cutting their healthcare spending but still feel healthy, a survey by Euro RSCG Worldwide found. Most respondents (83%) rated their health positively—though nearly a third (31%) said they’ve economized on healthcare consultations and 28% said they’ve cut spending on prescriptions. Still, 27% of the 750 adults polled expected their health to improve in the coming year, and 22% said they were healthier than they were last year.
