New study explores pharma sales force spending

Top pharmaceutical sales forces spend an average of $874 million to
remain competitive in the current market, according to a recent information study conducted by Cutting Edge Information.
The study found that the average sales spending as a percent of prescription sales equals 9.55 percent and that this trend indicates spending will continue to increase every year as sales forces expand, new technologies emerge and promotional budgets attached to new and blockbuster drugs escalates.
