Jamey Edwards
CEO of Cloudbreak Health

Edwards first scratched his entrepreneurial itch in 2006 when he left a career in financial services to turn a small family-owned business, Emergent Medical Associates, into a leading multi-specialty group in the Southwest. His work at Cloudbreak, a telemedicine company that helps health systems and providers connect with and care for patients, finds him attempting to break down barriers of a different sort.

Cloudbreak is simultaneously attempting to complete two missions: the Cost-to-Zero and Access-to-Care Moonshots. If the company is able to break down longstanding silos between hospitals and health systems, it will certainly have played its part.

Edwards also serves as CEO of the Language Access Network. “One in five patients in an emergency department or a hospital speaks a language other than English,” he recently told the Los Angeles Times. “Having access to a language interpreter empowered patients to take control of their care and allowed the provider to make the proper diagnosis.”
