MM+M has made a change at the top of its masthead. Longtime staff member and editor Larry Dobrow has assumed the role of editor-in-chief of MM+M. Former editor-in-chief Steve Madden will remain with the brand in his role as GM of MM+M and of Haymarket Media’s Business Media Group.

Formerly the brand’s executive editor, Dobrow’s editorial leadership has helped MM+M’s Agency 100 issue become an industry staple. The editorial staff of MM+M will report directly to Dobrow.

“It’s a great honor to cover the medical marketing business as it continues to thrive amid incredibly challenging circumstances,” Dobrow said. “It’s just as much of an honor to do so alongside MM+M’s incredibly smart, thoughtful and committed editorial, commercial, events and production teams. I’m thankful for the opportunity and can’t wait to dive in.”

During his seven-plus-year tenure with MM+M, Dobrow has written about topics ranging from the evolving health-media landscape to healthcare marketing policy to clinical trial access. He has also led the brand’s coverage of SXSW and other health-tech events, and serves as the top editor of the brand’s Vaccine Newsletter.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside Larry for my 10+ years at MM+M and couldn’t be more thrilled with this well-deserved achievement,” publisher Doreen Gates said. “Our collaboration and brainstorming on driving the brand forward and taking it to the next level is something I am very much looking forward to.”

Prior to arriving at MM+M, Dobrow covered marketing and media for 15 years at publications including Advertising Age, Mediapost and PRWeek. He has also written about sports (for CBSSports.com and Maxim) and entertainment (for American Way, Premiere and Blender), and is the author of four children’s books. An avid runner and musician, Dobrow and his wife, Valerie, have two sons and live in Mahwah, New Jersey.
