Harris starts tenure as AMA president
Dr. Patrice Harris was sworn in as president of the American Medical Association on June 11. She is the first black woman to hold the position. Harris will also continue to serve as chair of the AMA’s opioid task force, as she has done since its 2014 launch.
Fingerpaint names Phoenix account service team leader
Fingerpaint has hired Kristie Troy to its account service team based in Phoenix. She was most recently director of proposal management for enterprise client solutions at Covance. Previously, Troy worked at Avant Healthcare Marketing.
Atlantis appoints Matheson as chairman
Atlantis Healthcare has named Neil Matheson, former global CEO of Huntsworth Health, as non-executive chairman of the board. He will focus on driving global growth of the company’s personalized services to improve health outcomes.
Toosey joins NakedHealth
NakedHealth has brought on film director, writer and speaker Jonty Toosey as a partner. He will work to build its creative and production arm. Previously, Toosey worked on campaigns for McVities and Mind, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Mondelez.
Health Monitor Network adds three executives
Health Monitor Network has added three executives to its management team: Paul Wituschek as chief commercial officer; Joseph DiCarlo as chief people officer; and David Zuern as SVP of operations. Wituschek was previously SVP of global business development at Icon. DiCaro was chief talent and engagement officer at Westmed Practice Partners. Zuern was previously VP of logistics at Benjamin Moore.
PRGN names three regional VPs
Public Relations Global Network has adopted a new strategic plan alongside a regional structure with three VPs. The network has named Anne Buchanan, president of Buchanan Public Relations in Philadelphia as regional VP for the Americas. Uwe Schmidt, CEO of Industrie-Contact in Hamburg, Germany, was named regional VP for EMEA. Perspective Strategies principal partner and managing director Andy See Teong Leng has been appointed regional VP for Asia-Pacific.
Celldex hires Young as chief medical officer
Celldex Therapeutics has appointed Diane Young as SVP and chief medical officer, effective July 8. She was most recently chief medical officer of biopharmaceutical company GTx and previously worked at Novartis Oncology.
Innovate names Sitar CFO
Innovate Biopharmaceuticals has appointed Ed Sitar as chief financial officer, effective July 1. Most recently, he was CFO of Ammon Labs and Cancer Genetics and worked at healthcare companies including ActiveHealth Management and Cadent Holdings.
Pacira hires Reinhardt as president
Pacira BioSciences has appointed Max Reinhardt as president, reporting to chairman and CEO Dave Stack and overseeing all commercial and medical affairs functions. Reinhardt was previously VP of marketing for DePuy Synthes, part of Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices Companies.
Menlo hires Krasnow
Menlo Therapeutics has hired Ronald Krasnow as general counsel and chief compliance officer, responsible for all legal operations. Previously, he served as general counsel, chief strategy officer and secretary at Kinestral Technologies.
Gilead hires Friedman
Gilead Sciences has named Joshua Friedman as director of commercial development and strategy. Previously, he worked at Genentech.
