The FDA approved its first at-home HIV test. The OraQuick In-Home HIV Test kit looks a lot like an at-home chemistry set and converts to support test tubes that are part of the apparatus. Like pregnancy tests, the FDA notes that the kit can provide false positives or false negatives, but supporters have said a DIY test could increase the number of individuals who get tested for HIV. An FDA advisory panel endorsed the kit 17-0 in May.

VP Corporate Brand Management at BASF Ludwigshafen Susanne Marell has a new, shorter title as of July 1: CEO of Edelman Germany. Marell joined Edelman when the firm acquired Cognis. Her new job puts the firms’ second-largest EMA region under her authority, and boosts Cornelia Kunze into her new role as Vice Chairman, Edelman Asia Pacific. Kunze will take on the new role October, 1 and will be located in Mumbai.
