After stints at Edelman and Red Door, Katie Buckley faced a unique challenge as global therapeutic area communications leader, infectious diseases and vaccines at Janssen. She had to communicate the strategy and latest developments around Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine.

From clinical trials to emergency use, Buckley navigated the company through uncharted waters with transparent, compliant media statements, press releases and interviews. Now she is leading communications for Johnson & Johnson MedTech’s new Vision Made Possible program to raise awareness about eye health. In just one year, her efforts have paid off in a 513% rise in media coverage across the Americas, thanks to strong media strategies focused on prioritizing vision.

Buckley also puts her abilities as an advocate to use as a volunteer guardian assisting children who have been abused, neglected or abandoned, and she is also a devoted mother to her two daughters.
