Laurie Brown has a five-word motto that has guided much of her career and life: fearless minds and relentless optimism. At the start of her professional life, as an RN, she worked with oncology and hematology patients, navigating the joys of small wins and the challenges of palliative and end-of-life care. She saw firsthand the ability of appropriate care and medical advances to make real changes in the lives of patients.
At Gilead, which Brown joined in 2022, she has provided commercial leadership and oversight for more than 10 clinical stage programs. The “fearless minds” part of Brown’s mantra is most evident in her embrace of pioneering strategies, capabilities and partnerships. Her goal is, always, to improve patients’ lives.
She often takes her slogan on the road, too. Brown is a passionate, and fearless, traveler (not tourist, she points out) having spent time in more than 40 countries.
