AstraZeneca has appointed Marta Brito Pérez as human resources VP, North America and global marketing. Prior to joining AstraZeneca, Pérez was the chief human capital officer of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and directing all aspects of human resources management. In her new position, Pérez leads AstraZeneca’s human resources operations for North America and global marketing. President George Bush appointed Pérez to her previous position at DHS in August 2006. In that role, she was responsible for all aspects of managing Homeland Security’s human resources including the development, education and training of over 180,000 DHS employees.  Prior to her role at DHS, Pérez was the government-wide lead for the human capital initiative under the President’s Management Reform Agenda at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.

Seidler Bernstein’s Jennifer Nichols
has been promoted to senior account manager from her previous position as account manager, and Lindsey Whalen has been promoted to project manager from her previous position as assistant account manager.

Concentric Pharma Advertising, has established a new consumer business unit to be headed by industry veteran Mike Devlin, who joins the agency as EVP and managing director. Devlin, formerly executive creative director and a founding member of CCA Advertising in New York, has worked in a broad range of therapeutic categories and directed successful campaigns for numerous high-profile pharmaceutical clients including Schering-Plough, Pfizer, Eli Lilly, Agouron, Novo Nordisk, Olympus and Bayer.

Barclay Missen has been named director of digital communications with Topin & Associates, Inc. In this role, Missen will integrate interactive strategies and programs into all of the agency’s client planning and expand the agency’s application of digital marketing. Previously, Missen was creative director – interactive at Goble & Associates in Chicago, where he was responsible for the concept, design, and execution of a variety of projects that blended Web, interactive media, and video with traditional print and collateral.

Ogilvy Healthworld appointed Donna Tuths to president, Ogilvy Healthworld, North America.  Previously, Tuths was managing director of the Ogilvy Healthworld Consumer Division. Before joining Ogilvy Healthcare in November 2003, Tuths was the president of Organic New York, where she gained a wealth of experience in digital channels and marketing. Prior to that, she was managing director of Y&R Wunderman New York, where she developed award winning brand and direct marketing campaigns as global lead for the AT&T and IBM brands.
